Big Brown Bat, Eptesicus fuscus

I was fortunate to work with these bats in college which gave me an opportunity to study their form, postures and behaviors. Even so, it took scores of hours of origami experimentation to approximate the form and proportions of this bat, Eptesicus fuscus. This work, more than any other, reminds me of what master Yoshizawa said, "Remember that the paper is the flesh, and the folds are the bones."
